Sometimes things just don’t go as planned or work out first try. Motivation aside, I’ve been away from home on-and-off for the last month or so, and working extra while I’m around – All while trying to close on a house that has some legal hurtles in the way at the moment.
I was motivated in November to get a few episodes under my belt to get through the holidays, which I knew were going to be busy with work, travel, and (hopefully) closing on a house. I wish I was able to say that happened, but at this point, I don’t know when or if it is going to happen. What I wasn’t counting on was not being able to use the card reader I’ve always used in the past to get the episodes off the recorder and onto the computer to start editing. I ordered a new one and basically missed my window that I needed to get things edited and the first episode uploaded.
After I got my new card reader and got back around with some time to edit, at least one of the episodes needed a good deal of editing as time had passed and information had changed since our discussion until now. So I knew I had to thoroughly review at least one, but probably two, episodes during editing. Just more and more delay.
So, I recorded an episode immediately after recording the last one, Defining Success: GrindWorks Podcast 055, and just didn’t like the way it came out… it felt like it was incomplete without another person involved in the dialogue. I bounced the idea off Matt Smith and he liked it enough that we decided to sit down and discuss it together. Our conversation carried rather well as we caught up on what each of us have going on in our day-to-day lives and eventually transition into the topic at hand, which you won’t hear until Part 2 releases.
I also have a follow-up to the Styles For Myles Jam: GrindWorks Podcast 053 with some jam recap, sponsor shoutouts, and Thank You’s from Myles’ family. I’m planning to cut this in as episode 057 in the next week or so before uploading Part 2 of Kickin’ It with Matt Smith.
Some other episodes on the horizon are a follow-up with John Corts to the Work Frames – A New BMX Company with John Corts: GrindWorks BMX Podcast 030 episode. When we sit down to record this it will be just about 3 years apart, so be on the lookout for that!
Anyway, I appreciate you all for sticking with us through a lot of unknown times and sporadic posting. We’re almost out of it, I feel it!
