Two-for-one Special: Episodes 049 and 050 are live!

After a long break between the last few episodes, it feels good to have a few on-deck. But due to the urgency with which I want to get episode 050 out to everyone, I’m dropping both episodes 049 and 050 together.

Episode 049 is a solo-cast recorded while driving from Pittsburgh, PA to Binghamton, NY and discusses some supply chain issues with pegs, hints at upcoming jams, and pitches some alternate podcast episodes that may be on the horizon.

Episode 050 is with Derek Nelson and details some of the headaches he has had with the town where his park, HCS, and fabrication business, Spooky Action Industrial Arts, is located. There’s a GoFundMe, as well as several other links below.

Episodes are after the jump!

Josh Sorrentino and Kevin Czuba: GrindWorks Podcast 048

This episode went live earlier today and I didn’t have time to make a formal post about it. If you’ve seen or listened to it already, thank you! If not, well here you go! Episode 048 is with Josh Sorrentino and Kevin Czuba. They hung out in Pittsburgh over a month ago and I just never put it online.

You’ll find some links to check out the podcast on various other platforms as fits your lifestyle after the jump!

BFS Day Trip

James Yusczyk and myself (AV) decided to head North and hit up Breaking Free Skatepark with a few friends. We managed a few clips and put this little edit together for your viewing pleasure.

We also figured that playing my own music wouldn’t be any worse than the generic rights-cleared music, so I went for that using my son’s toddler guitar and toddler drum set. Could be worse…

Matt O’Connell: GrindWorks Podcast 047

Why has it been so long and why has so much changed? I am writing this (an technically the last post) in a new format on WordPress, and it feels foreign. But our last podcast episode was in August. That’s a huge gap. We’ve tried some live-casts and while fun, I just don’t believe they make for good listening when posted up later and the element of interaction is removed.

Anyway, after such a long break, and technical difficulties during episode 046, things just appear to be working again. Well, if we were “in studio” that is. Matt O’Connell “visited” and we were able to “remotely” record an episode that has been in the works for a while. But per usual, it’s more of a hang-out session than an interview. Either way, you’re still bored and the world is pending another shut down, so give this a listen and stay tuned for a couple more coming soon.

Back In Studio: GrindWorks Podcast 046

There’s little that is more annoying than leaving something in working condition and returning to it no longer working. Enter the GrindWorks studio for this episode of the podcast. There appears to be an issue with the recent update to the Open Broadcaster Software I use to record these, but it will not accept two video input at the moment, try as I might to get it handled. So, after a poll on Instagram to find out if people are even watching the YouTube version, I decided to continue with the production (even if ghetto) for the short term.

This episode is primarily a recap of the GrindWorks Instajams, 2020 GrindWorks Pittsburgh Street Jam, and 2020 GrindWorks Binghamton Jam at HCS Skatepark. Lean back and monster truck your way into episode 046 of the GrindWorks podcast!

GrindWorks Pittsburgh Street Jam

Unlike years past where I have juggled hosting, filming, riding, prize management, etc… this year I embraced the fact that other people are as excited and hyped to be filming as much as they, or others, are about riding.

Enter Jake Aiken: Jake was already holding the camera when we showed up this year and after a short discussion, elected to let him take the reigns on filming and editing this years jam video. I hope you’re stoked on how this came out; we definitely are!

Thanks to all the sponsors that contributed to making this year’s events happen. See you all in Binghamton next week!
