Tom Beckman has been on the show before, on the No Worries Crew Podcast (Episode 022), but he was pretty sick and didn’t really get to talk much. This time around is different and he’s substantially more alive and mildly more entertaining. We chat a little about the most recent No Worries Crew project, #betterlate, and then focus more on Tom and his photography as Tom Beckman Photo.
There’s lots of good content after the jump and also some links to check out the podcast on various other platforms as fits your lifestyle, including a new one! Continue reading “Tom Beckman: GrindWorks BMX Podcast 031”
In case you haven’t heard the news yet, FBM has closed it’s machine shop and left long-time welder, John Corts, on his own to either move onto other things, or start his own brand. With close to 20 years of frame-building experience, it’s not surprising that he is starting his own brand, simply dubbed ‘Work’.
John doesn’t get into a lot of details about the separation with FBM, so if you’re looking for drama, look elsewhere; but if you want to know what’s next for one of the best frame builders in the industry, click play and go follow what he’s up to at @jcortsmetalworks on Instagram. Also, check back for his website link as that goes live soon!

The Winter Welcome Jam is a pretty big deal in the Pittsburgh BMX scene, so I (AV) sat down with Mike and Mark Potoczny to discuss this year’s upcoming event. The 2020 Winter Welcome Jam is on January 18 at The Wheel Mill in Pittsburgh, PA.
Episode 029.1 is the condensed discussion, to highlight the jam details. The full episode 029, the event flyer, and a link to the event listing is after the jump. Continue reading “GrindWorks Podcast 029: 2020 Winter Welcome Jam”
It looks like I completely forgot to post this one up after I uploaded it. So, here you go! Hung out with Brant Moore on a live stream on the new setup a little while back. Give a quick listen if you haven’t already!

If you don’t know the name yet, make sure you check out the man on Instagram at @dewdropdrizzle. This cut is (I believe) a 3 hour session turned into a short edit. Its pretty raw, but that’s what we like anyway, right?
This episode of the GrindWorks podcast is with Kevin Czuba, or @misckevin for most of you. Kevin is a mid-school bmx collector and has a creative outlook on riding bikes akin to that era. Give this one a listen and go drop him a follow on Instagram.

I forgot to post this one up here on the site, so here is the 26th episode of the GrindWorks Podcast with Sam Schrage. This was recorded using the Anchor app from cross-country. It sounds a little “phone-call like”, but it essentially was.
This episode is the first one to really have a title along with the interview. Here is “What Really Grinds My Gears”
